DAY 629 (22nd Uktar) (November)

Today Corhim teleported to Sasserine to visit the Underforge Builders and see about getting his tower built.

But first he went to Orimander’s Emporium of the Soul to see how she was getting on.
She was happy to see him and offered him tea and cake.

During their chat he asked, 'Does time run the same in Harmony?'
'Yes,' she replied.
'You haven't been recently?'
'Oh, I've not been in a while. It's fun at first, but they are a bit needy. That's one of the reasons I gave you the ring.'
Corhim considered then asked, 'Are you a Lorekeeper?'
'Oh yes!' she giggled. 'Of the first order and in high standing!'

Corhim decided to tell her everything about the Fortress of the Yuan-ti. She was very impressed and hung on his every word. Since she was so impressed with his bravery and because she thought he might need it she gave him an Amulet of Protection from Fireballs for free!

Once he was full of cake he waddle off to the Builders and ordered up his tower.

It was to be three floors (to begin with) and with a foot print of about 40ft by 40ft. It would have a crenellated top and sub-divided as required.
The stairs would be on the edge, on the inside of the wall.
He paid 30,000 gold and another 1000 for it to be structurally strong enough for the later addition of extra floor and another 1000 for a "cellar ready" foundation. It would take a mere 30 days to build.

That evening Corhim had dinner with Lavinia and then with all the maps and ledgers spread out she told him about how she carried out colonisations like at Farshore and here at Yag Island.

Corhim was all for raiding pirate fleets and freeing slaves right now, but she explained that they needed to get set up first, to be properly defensible, ready for the backlash. She also needed a proper port for all the ships I had been bringing back. She didn't trust Tumunzah yet, there were two many pirate ships turning up at that port.

'We could become major players in Faerune if we are careful,' she said. 'But first we have to disguise the trade we can make through the portals with a legitimate shipping business. Almost as if we are criminals laundering money. If a really powerful entity, like a nation state, gets wind of the portals they will come and take them. That's why we can't go causing a ruckus just yet.'

Corhim was all about causing ruckuses, but it was not his decision. He thought about Felia and the missing mushroom shops that had once been connected to the one she had inherited. Perhaps he could use them instead for his schemes?
