DAY 94 (mon) cont ..

ACTION REPORT : DERELIC SPACE SHIP : BANEAN SYSTEM : ID #AA950224

REPORT AUTHOR : Crewman Lydia Anderson

Mission began at 0700. Shuttle Tereshkova left Voyager at 0805.

Arrived at space hulk (ID #AA950224) at 1317. Full armour, weapons and ammo checks carried out during journey.
Had a light lunch of ration bars at 1204. Drank 300ml of water.

Initially Ensign Kirk orbited the hulk a few times, scanning it and hailing it on all frequencies.
There was no response to the hails.

Envoy Mioen attempted to hack into the computer systems found to be active on board the hulk but was met by
counter-measures and a counter-hack.

Envoy Mioen then used her mysterious powers to scan the ship and reported that she had detected three beings,
'One person is fearful, changing to apprehensive, one is sleeping and the other is doing a task or job. This
third person is fading from my view as they pass further into the ship.'

Ensign Kirk replicated a 'Comms Limpet', a sort of jury rigged comms probe and launched it at the hulk where
it latched onto the hull and relayed comms further in via vibration.

Having no visible affect, Kirk, more cautious in his approach since loosing command of the Aeroshuttle, contacted
Voyager for instructions via Subspace and was told by Captain Janeway to 'Board the ship.'

Ensign Kirk replicated a 10kg power generator, reasoning it would come in handy for powering up systems within the
hulk.

We all donned our Enviro Suits and the Tereshkova entered an open docking bay. Once on a landing pad we exited the
shuttle and approached a set of doors at the rear of the bay. Ensign Kirk powered a control panel and the holographic
image of the ship's avatar appeared.
The universal translator allowed us to understand it and it informed us that the hulk was the wreck of the USS EVENT
TURTLE and that her name was Fatima. Her last logs were dated from 45 years ago. Her AI core was further into the ship
and weighed 350kg. She proved us with schematics of the vessel, as it was 45 years ago anyway and the floor plans were
downloaded to our tricorders and datapads.

Setting a course for the AI core we manually jacked open an interior door and advanced inwards. Mioen continued to
seek out the minds of those within.

We were soon attacked by a group of Vidiian crewmen, Vidiian Infiltrators and a new type of being we christened 'Vidnids'.
I have no training in xeno-anthropology but I would describe them as horrible genetically twisted beings about the size
of a dog with eight spindly legs and the rotting heads similar to that of normal Vidiians but with more eyes and teeth.
They were terrible in appearance and quick, but usually a single phaser rifle shot is enough to kill them.

We met the first batch of them in a large loading area, then the next lot down a corridor where they had set up some
crates as a barricade. Once we'd finished the off Kirk revived an injured one who didn't say much more than,
'We are the Vidiian Peoples Front - We laugh in the face of death!'

Moving closer to the CCR (Central Control Room) Mioen 'Suggested' to this Vidiian that he should help us. Round the
corner to the CCR she also suggested this to the one that seemed to be in charge. This held them back from attacking
us, but we were attacked by more Vidnids.

Mioen then started to try and persuade them to trade the AI core with us. Kirk and Mioen were forgetting the main mission
I suspected being greatly interested in the AI and neglecting our main objective which was to stop whatever the Vidiians
were up to here. Mioen had detected being in distress who were most likely prisoners, but this had all been forgotten about
in the push to the CCR.

So I was glad when Kirk contacted Voyager and appraised them of the current situation and the following subspace messages
were relayed via the shuttle,
Janeway : 'AI not a priority, rescuing the prisoners is.'
Kirk    : 'Request for confirmation? Authorised to use force to recover prisoners?'
Janeway : 'As last resort yes.'

Kirk nodded grimly as he read the message and we returned to the barricade. We booby trapped the bodies with concussion
and stun grenades and headed down to where we thought the prisoners were located.

DAY 88 (tue)

VOYAGER PERSONNEL LOGS

Mioen

Mioen attended the first day of a three day training course on the Prime Directive.

Ensign Kirk

Ensign Kirk reported for duty at the Deck 6 Armoury at 0700.

~~

Also today, after a rather dull shift after all the excitement of the Aeroshuttle, Kirk went to Sandrine's between the hours of
2000 to 2200 and talked to Crewman Paterson. She told him that it looked like Ensign Munro would be the one to replace him.
Kirk also

Mioen went back to her cabin after the training course and discovered that her new cabin mate was to be Ensign Amanda Porter.

DAY 89 (wed)

VOYAGER PERSONNEL LOGS

Mioen

Mioen attended the second day of a three day training course on the Prime Directive.

Ensign Kirk

Ensign Kirk reported for duty at the Deck 6 Armoury at 0700. Lieutenant Andrews authorised Kirk to spend all day working
on the MATSE project.

~~

Also today Mioen accepted Ensign Rumbleton's offer of dinner and met him on the holodeck for an evening meal in a simulation of
a restaurant at the top of the Eiffel Tower. After the meal he changed the scene to a night club with a dance floor. Mioen had
a good time and Rumbleton plied her with drink.
There is a fine line though, when you try and get a girl drunk and Rumbleton went over it. Mioen was not used to whiskey and
after a few was so drunk she may well of lost all her inhibitions, but she was in a stupor and slumping in her seat.
Rumbleton helped her back to her cabin and with a sigh bid her good night.

Ensign Kirk spend his evening working on his MATSE project.

DAY 90(thu)

VOYAGER PERSONNEL LOGS

Mioen

Mioen attended the third day of a three day training course on the Prime Directive.

Ensign Kirk

Ensign Kirk reported for duty at the Deck 6 Armoury at 0700. Lieutenant Andrews authorised Kirk to spend all day working
on the MATSE project.

~~

Also today Kirk was sent a message from Noxus begging him for help. He'd been beaten up by Seska and her gang. He didn't
want the Captain to find out but offered all of his GORR to Kirk if he helped get some revenge.

Turning things to his advantage Kirk agreed in return for some help on MATSE. Nothing happened today though, Kirk met
Noxus at the mess hall and walked him to his cabin. Seska saw them and gave them a filthy look.

DAY 91 (fri)

VOYAGER PERSONNEL LOGS

Mioen

Mioen attended a firearms course all of today.

Ensign Kirk

Ensign Kirk reported for duty at the Deck 6 Armoury at 0700. Lieutenant Andrews authorised Kirk to spend all day working
on the MATSE project.

~~

At lunchtime, Kirk, Mioen and Noxus met in the messhall.
'Everybody hates me!', groaned Noxus.

The came up with a plan and put it into operation that evening at dinner. At 2000 hours Seska entered the messhall and
sat with her friends. She finished her dessert and left. Noxus gave his friends a wink and followed not far behind her.

Kirk followed and down towards the lower decks eventually was confronted by Crewman Kurt Bendera, one of Seska's friends
from the Maquis.

It quickly escalated as Seska turned up and then Mioen. Mioen issued a 'Suggestion' to Seska that Noxus was not worth
her time. This worked, Seska called off her henchmen and everyone walked away. Mioen wasn't sure but thought that Noxus
would be safe from Seska for a week or two.

DAY 92 (sat)

VOYAGER PERSONNEL LOGS

Mioen

Voyager had arrived in a new system and a diplomatic mission was prepared to visit the planet Banea. Mioen spent all day
as a sort of hostess, helping out the Captain as they entertained Banean diplomats visiting on board. Also present for
parts of the day were Chakotay and Tuvok.

Later in the day she joined the bridge crew on a visit to the planets surface by shuttlecraft. They arrived back late
that night.

Ensign Kirk

Ensign Kirk reported for duty at the Deck 6 Armoury at 0700. Lieutenant Andrews authorised Kirk to spend all day working
on the MATSE project.

~~

Also during this day Mioen took the opportunity to talk to the Captain about her psy powers. The Captain suggested that
Tuvok would be the best person to talk to in regards to increasing her abilities.

DAY 93 (sun)

VOYAGER PERSONNEL LOGS

Enroll

A Banean space liner issued a distress call. It had been attacked by Numari commandos. Enroll was kept busy all day
helping out in the med bay as the injured came on board.

Mioen

Mioen, in her roles as part of the crew of the Aeroshuttle, went down to the surface of the planet Banea. She found
that Rumbleton was pestering her a lot so she 'Suggested' to him he go bother Crewman Paterson.

Ensign Kirk

Kirk joined the Aeroshuttle on a trip to the planet Banea. Ensign Munro was the new commander of the shuttle
and Kirk helped her get familiar with the ship. Being such a lashup there were a lot of quirks about the Aeroshuttle
that were worth knowing to get the most out of her.

There were also a dozen or so other passengers on board, all getting some shore leave.

On the planets surface Kirk and Paterson kept company in the markets and bazaars.

~~

After half a days shore leave the Aeroshuttle returned to Voyager.

DAY 94 (mon)

Normal duty was temporarily suspended for both Kirk and Mioen today as Neelix had requested them to help him on a trade
mission to Banea. So they joined him on the Baxail on a supply run to the planet.

While they were there Tom Paris saw them and came over for a friendly chat. He also had a local woman with him called
Liddell with whom he seemed to be on very friendly terms with.

The Baxail returned to Voyager later that night.

DAY 94 (mon)

Things were getting a bit dull for poor old Kirk as he waited in semi-disgrace to be forgiven by the Captain, so he
was overjoyed when his superior, Lt Andrews, approached him with a mission.

Lt Andrews was a tough old fellow and had a lot more sympathy for Kirk than the Captain or Tuvok and had when a report
came to him of a derelict spaceship on the fringes of the Banean system that was showing Vidiian energy signatures he
could think of no one better to go and check it out.

Kirk was given the small shuttle 'Tereshkova' and ordered to get a crew together and to requisitions weapons and ammo.
Ensign Kirk selected Crewman Anderson, Ensign Parsons and Envoy Mioen to join him.

(G228 23/01/2015  via Roll20 - AP(GM), JF, Mira, Guru)

DAY 227 (24th Marpenoth)(October) cont ...

We waited for the Enfeeblements to end, which was a matter of minutes, then went to the western most
door in the ruins and listened at it. A low moaning emanated from within.

Mira opened the door and we delved inside. There was a massive misshapen ogre type thing inside. It's
face was a black hole, a swirling void and its body was covered in screaming faces from which the
moans were coming.

Now, it was truly monstrous and horrifying and in all likelihood it meant us harm. However I usually
like to establish this for a fact first. However the forced cheery 'Hello there!' I was about to call
out died on my lips as Mira and Gurudor charged in for the attack. Sylvia shrugged her shoulders and
joined the fight.

Well, it was happy to fight us anyway, and I summoned my usual army of crocodiles to join the battle.
It had some sort of magic part to its attacks as those who were stuck by it were hit with a sense of
crushing despair. Gurudor reported later that he felt his whole soul being crushed by a tremendous
sense of misery. I think the crocodiles were hit with this too, but this did not stop them from fighting
the thing and besides, a miserable crocodile is largely indistinguishable from a joyful one.

We all crowded around the monster hitting at it and casting spells, while it lashed out at us. It definitely
had some sort of powerful magic on it as even the strongest blows did hardly anything. Mira was hit a dreadful
blow and sent flying. Gurudor used his paladin magic 'Lay On Hands' and she bounced back up and joined the
fight.

I cast Shadowblast on it, but this had no effect. It hardly seemed to notice anyone else and focused its
attacks on Mira, as if it couldn't stand the fact that she hadn't died on its first powerful attack on her.
At one point though I seemed to get in the way of it and it really caught me a good one. I was sent reeling
and moaning in pain I scuttled to Sylvia to get healed up.

There was an altar in the room and I jumped up onto it to blast it with Frost Breath. Still no effect! I
was just wasting my time on this thing, the only option I had was to poke at it with my scimitar which didn't
seem to bother it much at all.

We were really struggling to find a way of hurting the thing. Next Sylvia tried to Turn it twice with her
divine powers, but this did nothing. I guessed this thing was a construct and not undead, maybe some sort
of horrible golem.

In the end I think we just held it at bay long enough for Gurudor to get in some really powerful blows with
his two handed sword and eventually the thing was felled. The crocodiles did manage to knock it about a bit
as well, but it was mainly the paladin's sword that did for it in the end.

So, the 'Gloomgolem' finally dispatched we got our breath back and searched the chamber we were in. It was a
sort of altar room, and on it we found an emblem of Cyric (skull and sunburst). There were statues in each corner
shrouded in heavy drapes.

Mirabella had been badly affected by the fight, the blows that had hit her, although healed by Sylvia, had left
her cursed and disfigured. She had turned into a sort of hideous version of herself and when she went to get some
comfort from Badger, he growled at her and backed off.

We were all exhausted from the fight with the Gloomgolem and the previous nasties so a watch was posted and we got
some rest in this room. I rolled out the magic bedroll and took a nice long nap. It's always good to get a nice rest,
particularly for magic users, and I awoke some time later refreshed and revitalised. I truly thank the day I purchased the
magic bedroll, it doesn't matter where I am, I just kick the monster guts to one side, roll over to ignore the corpses
and snuggle in. Perfect repose guaranteed every time!

Before we left the chamber, Mira took a look at the statues. One was of a tall woman in robes and the other was of
a young nubile dancer. Behind the altar was a coffer full of treasure which we helped ourselves to. I also did a quick
sketch of the Gloomgolem and took a few tissue samples.

The later part of this day then, saw us continue the exploration of these ruins. After skulking round a few deserted
rooms we found our way down some dark outdoor steps to a closed door. Mirabella skulked around the exterior wall to try and
get a look in a window, but Gurudor blew our cover once more by walking up to the door and knocking loudly on it.
A voice from within asked, 'Who goes there?'
'Gurudor of Mystra!'
'What do you want?'
'I'm looking for the people kidnapped from Weyloon!'

Someone opened the door and looked out, a nasty looking character. The interior of the room he was in was well
appointed and there were two pale looking human warriors behind him with skulls emblazoned on their shields.
The man looked Gurudor up and down and said, 'Get lost! Go on, bugger off!' and made to close the door.
Gurudor stuck his foot in the doorway and the man drew his sword and stuck it in the foot.
Gurudor withdrew his foot and the door was closed and locked.

I'd been thinking about a tactic I might use in this sort of scenario so I smugly said to the others,
'Stand aside!' and turned into a rhinoceros. Much to my satisfaction (and luck, since I'd never tried this before)
I went through the door like it was a sheet of paper. It was worth it to see the expressions on the faces of the
men inside.
Mr B scuttled between my legs and bit at one of the men, but he had misjudged his victim as he was swatted aside
and landed in a bloody heap in the corner. The main nasty man was a caster of some kind as he summoned a bunch of
odd looking small fire breathing beasties which were extremely annoying.

Gurudor was next into the room and Mira entered from another door around the back. Sylvia came in and healed up Mr
B nicely. Mira had snuck round them, but the caster hit her with a spell that made her stand and babble for over
a minute. This was tragic, loosing one of our party for so long in the melee and it really turned the tide
against us.

I was finding that, being such a large creature I was a very easy target. The caster hit me with flames and then
some sort of disease spell. I roared and snorted and killed him with my horn. But some other spell landed on me
and I slipped into unconsciousness, my last thoughts being... there must be another .. invisible.. caster in the
room...
