[Sorry about all this back and forth dear reader! I have jumbled up all the pages of my own journal with the notes I have on Fenrir's exploits. So here we are, back with me and my companions again, trying to deal with all the Unseen nasties in the cave atop Midpoint Island.]

[On a side note - I may be accused of being overly cautious in my slow (but steady!) assault on the cave, but all I can say is that I really really didn't want anyone to die - or worse. Well anyway,

DAY 489 (5th Flamerule) (July) cont...

Once more we entered the cave and made our way down to where we had last seen our enemies. Now there was a sort of crystal wall grown across the entrance to the cavern they were hiding in.

It looked like it had been grown out of the walls somehow and was thick at the sides while no more than an inch wide in the middle. We could see through it.

Corum hit it with his small crowbar and after a few blows it began to shatter and break. Beyond the barrier the tunnel was almost completely blue, like the intestinal track of some awful giant monster.

Jiggles reported an interference in the use of her 'invisibility seeing' goggles and Irritator said that he could feel his magic being inhibited. I tried a summoning spell and it was sucked straight into the wall.
This place was immensely annoying, but then I suppose this was why the Unseen had chosen it as their lair.

As we considered this, we observed the blue crystal door slowly reforming. If only these stupid mindflayers would see sense, I pondered, instead of making everything so difficult. I mean, we were going to get them eventually!

Ever cautious, I ordered everyone back and we carried out experiments with magic in a safer place in the caves. It turned out that with enough concentration we could still use magic - which was just as well - as my entire strategy was dependant on it.

DAY 490 (6th Flamerule) (July)

When we checked the 'door' again this morning it had been 'healed over'. Corum made a hole in it with his crowbar and we saw the large cavern beyond.

Into the whole I summoned everything I had the power to summon! Crocodiles, Dire Wolves, and Apes. Irritator summoned Fiendish Apes and Wolves.

As wave after wave of animals poured into the cavern we heard lots of snarls and shouts. A few minutes after that all was quiet.

I went to the hole and shouted, 'Hello! Would anyone like to parley?' but knowing it was pointless.

Well, here I am again, at the camp fire, recording the days events in my journal. I don't think they can escape their caves. I've checked all around the mountain and kind find no sign of any other entrance to their lair.

So these fools are trapped like rats and all I need to do is flood them out. I don't think they will surrender. I also think they must surely have other tricks up their sleeves.

DAY 492 (7th Flamerule) (July)

They had been busy in the night, or someone had, as there were more crystal 'doors' that we had to batter through to get to where we had last seen them.

It took a while to get to where they were lurking and as we prepared to hit them with the 'wave of beasties' Corum was tagged with a Suggestion Spell (or similar) and off he went, determined to leave the cave and even the island if he could.

We had to keep him occupied for eight full hours until the spell wore off. Round two to the Unseen I suppose!

As they day wore on, we set up a watch rotation and made camp once again.

Myself and Sylvia were on watch, in the darkest part of the night, when someone started shooting arrows at us. It looked like the Unseen had called in reinforcements.
