[Meanwhile, back with Fenrir, Veddic and Arahel, in the dungeon underneath Lord Paynon's house]

DAY 312 (17th Hammer)(January) cont ...

You may remember, dear reader, that my friends on the Dragon Coast had recently finished fighting a troll and were now facing a mysterious opponent decked in full plate armour.

The attacks of my three friends and Thunda the dwarf who was the head of the town militia soon sent him packing though and he ran off further into the dungeon. Fenrir turned invisible and flying above the ground followed cautiously.

At a turn in the corridor he found a portcullis. He summoned Thunda and two of his men who soon broke it down with their axes. the corridor turned again and lead to a sturdy wooden door. A sinister purple mist seeped from under the door.

There was a another corridor that lead off south, just before the portcullis so before ordering the door bashed in Fenrir went and took a look down it. There was a big pit with a plank across it, which lead to a cave with three skeletons. He quickly destroyed them with eldritch blasts and moved on. The corridor ended in another cave that held three prisoners. Fenrir went back and told Thunda, who arranged for some of his men to escort them to safety.

Thunda knocked down the last door with his great axe and was attacked by a strange looking undead creature that nearly killed him. He retreated back down the corridor and let the others in. There were four undead things (they later learned they were Spawn of Kyuss) and the armoured man.
Veddic used his Turn Undead power and soon saw off all the Spawn, just leaving the cleric, who cast a Searing Light spell, missed and then used Plane Shift to escape.
Before he left he exclaimed, 'The Worm that Walks will have his revenge!'
