Larry used his computer skills to open the door with the control panel.
The gang cautiously entered a corridor that was strewn with broken furniture and other junk. They had a plan, a plan that they had been working on since the start - if the opportunity ever came, they would make their way to the landing pads and steal a ship!
The quickest way was through the canteen, so after picking up some batons and knifes to defend themselves with they made their way there.
Sorik went to open the door, but it was locked and his attempt to work the control panel only made it go into shutdown. Larry used his skills again to render the panel inoperative and open the door.
There were some Nimiri guards here, armed with batons, who charged to attack the escaping prisoners. The savage melee resulted in many injuries but in the end, three guards lay dead from multiple stabbings and another lay half-unconscious. Sorik did a nerve pinch on him and made him fully unconscious.
Larry went to the serving area and ate some food. He saw a balaxion covering underneath the counter, who kicked a medkit over to him.
Sorik raised an eyebrow at W'ang and brushed some dirt off her shoulder. He then went to investigate the canteen guard station that had its emergency shutters down. He went inside and was shot at by a wounded guard who was slumped on the floor. The phaser missed and Sorik leapt over to pinch the guard in the neck.
Sorik then argued with Larry about using the console in the guard station to do clever things with the doors, to open their way to the landing pads, while locking all the others. Larry said it didn't matter, as he could open any door they came to and closing doors would be mean to the other prisoners who may also be escaping. In the end they just left it, although Sorik said this was "illogical".
They made their way to the space port departure lounge, raiding a weapons locker on the way for a Nimiri phaser each.
They were really cautious at the door, and it was good that they were as a number of guards lay in wait with phasers, waiting to shoot and kill any escaping prisoners that came their way. The gang had gone over this scenario many times in their plans so returned fire from cover. In the fire fight all of them were injured but eventually they killed off all the guards. Nimiri phasers have no stun setting and even worse than that they fired explosive pulses that left large bloody wounds.
Nettlenex used the medic kit to patch up everyone and after getting their breath back and collecting ammo they made their way outside to the landing pads.
