MOBILISATION FORM

Prepared by : LT Tuvok

Away Team : Ensign Charles Burns, Ensign Richard Smith, Videk Toranni, Crewman Hamilton

Briefing Notes :

I've decided to sent back a class 2 shuttle to the Kalto-Markov system to escort back Commander Chakotay and Ensign
Kirk. If they find that Chakotay has gone down to the planets surface they are to contact me at once.

Toranni, although a Romulan, is being sent as he is the nearest thing Voyager has to being an expert in Polaric
Ion Energy.

Vessel : Class 2 Shuttle 'Cochrane'

Videk said fairwell to his wife and met up with Ensigns Burns and Smith at the shuttle. Crewman Hamilton, a silent
individual was to be their pilot.

On their day long journey to Kalto-Markov Videk read Star Fleet manuals, while Smith put his feet up and chatted
to Ensign Burns.

They entered the system about a half hour after Ensign Kirk signed off communication with Chakotay.

DAY 50 (mon) continued ...

They started by opening a channel to the aeroshuttle and asking what was going on. Ensign Kirk answered them
flippantly. When asked where Chakotay was he replied,
'He's gone down to the planet for donuts.'
Burns hung up on him after that.

Kirk tried to contact Chakotay, but discovered that his communicator had gone off. It had been deliberately switched
off so he left a voicemail message for him.

Meanwhile Ensign Burns sent a subspace message to Tuvok but was also unsuccessful. There was to many subspace fractures
making that type of communication impossible.

Videk started scanning the Aeroshuttle from his console, but Kirk blocked it and opening a channel said
'Is there something I can help you with?'

Videk said he wanted to talk to Chakotay.

Ensign Burns, Smith and Videk then had a long conversation as to what to do next and eventually decided to beam
aboard the Aeroshuttle which is what they did, but Kirk quickly erected a forcefield around them,
'It's a fucking Romulan!' , he exclaimed.

But once they had all verified who they all were on their datapads Kirk lowered the forcefield.

As everyone briefed each other on the ongoing situation, Videk did some scans of the planet and detected that
it was, in his opinion, days away from a Polaric Ion Energy Disaster.

It was then agreed that Hamilton should be sent back on the Class 2 (to report to Tuvok) while everyone else
stayed in the MK system.

The newcomers decided to beam down to the planet to go after Chakotay and to that end effect disguises. Videk
and Smith went for Sergeant and Corporal in the Kalto Gendarmes while Burns opted for a 'very hip' costume of
a local. He later discovered though that he costume was about forty years out of date and rather odd looking
to the locals.

Videk took a record of all the locations Chakotay had been to on his away mission.

They beamed down to the last know location of Chakotay's badge. They attempted to be discrete and beam into
an alleyway but were spotted by a small blonde boy who ran off into the market square nearby to tell anyone
that would listen.

Videk scanned the area and detected Nadion Particles. This was a sure sign that a phaser had been discharged
in the market. He estimated that one to five shots had been fired in the last hour.

Burns questioned a pie seller and discovered there had been some shooting in the square an hour ago and the
others noted a pool of blood that was being watched over by a gendarme. The guard saluted Videk but he pretended
to look busy.
Videk then talked to the guard who said
'What precinct are you from?'
'What one are you from?' he countered.
'District 19.' the guard grunted gruffly
'I'm here on special assignment. I'm not obliged to give you my precinct name.'
'Part of Nakrad's mob eh? No terrorists involved in this one so you can keep your nose out of it!'

Meanwhile Burns had learned that the man wounded in the shoot out was most likely taken to the nearest police
precinct or hospital.
For some reason, pure mischief most likely, he decided to steal a pie from the pie seller!
If only he'd know though, the markets of Kalto were famous secondly for the amount of pie-thievery, but also
firstly, and most importantly, the eagle-eyed watchfulness of all pie sellers.
'Stop thief!' cried the pie seller.
'Oh I am sorry!', declared Burns with a mouthful of pie, 'What type of pie is this?'
'Uh .. Wibbleberry.'
'Oh no! I'm allergic to Wibbleberry! BARF!'

While Burns bluffed his way out of his predicament the others discovered that the injured man from the
shoot out had been loaded onto an ambulance. Thinking quickly, Ensign Burns said he was very ill and the pie
seller drew some directions to the nearest hospital on a napkin for him.

They were now concerned that the injured person in the firefight must surely be Chakotay.

The passed the police station and thought about entering, but decided to go straight on to the
hospital instead.

They were given free access to the building and found that the injured person from the shoot out was
on the third floor so up the went. A few doors down the corridor from the lift they saw two guards.

'Follow my lead', declared Burns and rolled around pretending to be sick in front of the guards.
'This man needs a doctor!', cried Smith.

They then proceeded to trip and fool around while Videk bluffed his way into the room. There were two
more guards inside though and when they demanded to know what he was doing he said,

'I work for Ministry of Secret Operations.', which would have been a decent bluff if he had been any
good at it.

The situation started to get very tense and guns were drawn. Videk fled outside into the corridor
and more weapons were drawn and fired.

As the shoot out between the three Voyager crewmembers and the four guards began Ensign Kirk, who had
been monitoring their comms badges from the shuttle, tried to help by beaming down four stun grenades.

Unfortunately something went wrong and they ended up knocking eight pensioners senseless in a geriatric
ward one floor down.
