[Fenrir and Reinward have been tasked with staging a coup in the city of Westgate to stop the evil vampire lord the Night King from doing the same. As of right now - the coup had begun!]

DAY 559 (13th Eleint)(September)

Fenrir and Reinward were coming back from their favourite place - Gondeth's Mageries with new magical items. Reinward had treated himself to a "Skin of Celestial Embrace" and a human sized suit of magical Gnome Twisted Cloth armour.

In the street they were suddenly accosted by a large group of watchmen lead by Lorak Shaymer. You may remember that Fenrir had had trouble with this fellow on several occasions before and he had been raising a rebellious faction from within the ranks of the watch. As well as all that lot there was a company of the mercenary band that was under the control of the Night King - Carlos's Company. There was also a Watch Sergeant called Rotrick Parseman.

There was also a strange magical fox ahead of them, whose presence was never really explained.

A huge street rumble ensued. Reinward took to the roofs and hid behind a chimney while Fenrir blasted away on the ground, sending watchmen flying everywhere.

Reinward spotted a wizard up on the roof too and killed him with a dagger to the eyeball. This was a young man called Fizbert "Fizzy Wizzy" Blottworth who was on a gap year before planning to go on to University in Waterdeep. How he got mixed up in all this was anyone's guess. Well, he's dead now.

Fenrir shouted out something along the lines of 'Shaymer is the bad guy, not me!'

'You killed the Croamarch!' yelled back Rotrick. 'Submit yourself to arrest!'

Fenrir shrugged and kept blasting. Watchmen and mercenaries landed some blows on him, but they were all outmatched. As they broke and run, Reinward sniped from the rooftop. Shaymer was killed and Rotrick dragged his body away. As the others fled away, Fenrir signaled to Reinward to let them run away.

He looked around the street junction where the battle had taken place. There were over a dozen smoldering bodies scattered around at his feet. He could see terrified people cowering in doorways and behind windows. He gave them a wave then stooped down to start looting the bodies.

["Fenrir" (in reality a simulacrum created by the Vicar of Ghaunadaur), Corhim Sparkledingle the Gnome Wizard and Fangorino the Barbarian are in Sasserine, on mission given to them from my wife Lavinia back on Yag Island. They are currently fighting rogues and bouncers of the Lotus Dragon Thieves' Guild at some warehouse, in an attempt to retrieve supplies that had been stolen from the Vanderborens.]

DAY 591 (14th Marpenoth) (October) cont ...

Bad Harry was sort of useful in the fighting, but he always seemed to want to chop the head off any of the rogues that ended up on the ground. He even went as far as to offer one to his new friend Sparkledingle.

With the fighting outside the warehouses done, he wandered off, holding his collection of heads high in the air for all to see.

Fenrir and Fang went round to one of the back doors. Fang chopped it down. While they were round the back, some rogues scampered from the northern warehouse to the eastern one. Corhim was now hiding up on the roof again and saw this, shouting out 'I see people!'

'Get me two heads!' Fang shouted back. Thinking he would use this to intimidate the rogues still inside.

At the back the door had opened into a little office. The door to the main warehouse had been barricaded shut so Fenrir blasted it down. He was then hit by Magic Missiles, cast from a wand held by a Lotus Dragon commander. He and Fang charged in, slaying rogues or chasing them away. The commander fled too, leaving a huge dog behind to hold them back. Another well known Sasserine entity it was none other than Dave the Dog, a cross between a border collie and a black dragon (if you believe the tavern tales!).

Corhim continued to hide outside and saw the commander and some of the other rogues flee into the night. Thinking it might now be over he went to the door but was shot by a stray crossbow bolt. He ran off and hid again.

Battered and singed Dave backed off into a corner to lick his wounds. The first warehouse was theirs! It looked like it contained the missing supplies and while Fenrir checked around, Fang chopped off two heads, having a use for them later on. Corhim was horrified.

At the back of the next warehouse they chopped their way in again, and in this ones office they found a tarted up woman guarding a female prisoner.

The tart screamed and fled into the night. The prisoner was tied to a chair so they dragged her out into the street and untied her there.

When the next door was blasted down, Fang tossed the two heads into the main area. The rogues must have been pretty brave, or pretty stupid though as they saw the heads, but attacked anyway.

Again Corhim didn't go in, but stayed outside and talked to the prisoner. Her name as Cally Blackmeed and she was a rogue from a rival guild.

Once more Fang and Fenrir applied the 'choppy choppy' and the 'zappy zappy' in liberal amounts and some rogues were left dead while other threw open the front door and fled.

By the time they had looted all the corpses some wagons had arrived and sailors from the Blue Nixie started loading them up. They kept watch while this was done but no one, not even Bad Harry, came looking for trouble.

As dawn crept over the horizon they got on the ship and went to their cabins to clean up. In the warm morning night the Blue Nixie headed back to Yag Island.

["Fenrir" (in reality a simulacrum created by the Vicar of Ghaunadaur), Corhim Sparkledingle the Gnome Wizard and Fangorino the Barbarian are in Sasserine, on a mission given to them by my wife Lavinia back on Yag Island. While they have been waiting for the go ahead, Corhim has made friends with a gnome wizard who gave him a magic ring that lets him go to the city of Harmony on some other plane. Now it's time for them to do what they came to do in Sasserine.]

DAY 591 (14th Marpenoth) (October) cont ...

Note that I have since discovered that Fenrir and Fang had been given a sort of 'guard duty' job over the last few previous days. It was largely uneventful, but Fenrir did find a magical small greatsword - so a regular sized to sword to him I suppose. And Fang saved the life of a young Slyth and earned the eternal gratitude of her father - a very powerful druid called Rumble Leaf.

They were back now though and Liris the Factor said they could raid the Lotus Dragon warehouse tonight if they liked. She reminded them not to come back to the manor once it was done, but just to get on the Blue Nixie along with the supplies that were being recovered.

Corhim visited Orimander's shop one last time for supplies.

'Did you use the ring?' she asked.

'Oh yes! And I single-handedly completed some very hard quests!'

'Very good!' she replied with a wink.

They had a late lunch and Fenrir asked if there were any tunnels under the warehouses.

'Probably,' said Liris. 'They are known for using them.'

This was information they never acted on though, as by evening they snuck up to the two Lotus Dragon warehouses to take a look. There were two big buildings, perpendicular to each other, each with a door and a pair of tough guys in front of each door. I should note that Fenrir was in disguise at this point, while the other two were not.

They did a little skulk around the place, then it all kicked off with Corhim casting Glitterdust on two of the bouncers. Another took one look at Fang and went for him.

Corhim used an Alter Self spell to make himself like a human fighter and snuck off into the shadows. 'I'm just a passerby!' he tootled.

Fang laid in to the bouncers with his axe, a term that Corhim often referred to as the 'choppy-choppy'. If that was the case, then Fenrir came in with the 'zappy-zappy' to help out. Rogues and their angry dogs began to pile out of the warehouses. Fang and Fenrir held them back at the doors, but the dogs all went for Corhim, who must have had bacon in his pocket or something. Corhim came towards the melee and cast an old favourite - Grease, to slow down the rogues. He cast Ray of Stupidity on the dogs as they came for him, making them flop to the ground.

Fenrir (remember this was the less powerful 'fake Fenrir') was taking crossbow bolt fire, so cast Darkness to try and stop some of the bolts finding him. Having had enough of the dogs Corhim walked away from the fight again and down an alleyway. Unluckily for him though he bumped into a well known local nutter called Bad Harry. Harry was a tough barbarian, cast from the same mould as Fang, but with extra added wild-eyed insanity.

'Who are you? Who are you?' demanded Bad Harry.

'Eep!' yelped Corhim, who then cast Fly and headed for the rooftops.

Harry laughed and climbed up a drainpipe. 'Oi! Come back!'

When Harry was near him Corhim cast Charm Person and the barbarian became more friendly.

'If you want a fight, go down there!' squeaked Corhim, pointing down at the battle going on down beside the warehouses. Corhim flew down and seeing that Fang was getting overwhelmed by the attacks of so many rogues and tough guys he swapped places with him using a teleportation spell and cast more Glitterdust and Grease, sowing chaos and confusion.

Meanwhile Harry had jumped down and joined in, stabbing at rogues with his sword. Anything to help out his new best buddy.

 UPDATE NOTES

- FIXED BUG #230 - dominion spell needs to do something when cast!
- FIXED BUG #232 - Mana flare now reports if it has already been cast. It only needs to be cast once to work.
- FIXED BUG #233 - added a new function to give text values to generated items that use numbers ( function ding_dong() ). Used by the generic quest functions
- FIXED BUG #239 - chase off the harpies quest not working
- IDEA #407 - mindlock orb needs its own icon
- Added the Land Management box to the Infrastructure tab of the Management Page. It apparently takes at least 8000 sq feet of land to feed a person. In this game there is no way the ammount of land that can be saved or created can feed the ammount of people saved in regular play. So there is no effects associated with this at the moment. I find this concept interesting though and will think of a way to make it more sensible - cloning saved land maybe, or a magical multiplier that can be applied etc.
